This customer broke down near UWA and had already been ringing around trying to organise a tow.
They'd been given some massive quotes, including through overseas-based booking services, so when they got through to us we gave them a fair price for what the job actually was.
We were able to beat the other quotes, get the vehicle loaded and also take the customer home with us rather than leaving them stranded after the car had been collected.

How a Tow Is Usually Priced
Most tows are a hook-up fee to load the car, then a rate per kilometre for the distance. If the drop-off is very close, there may be no per-kilometre charge at all.
A price can go up when the car will not roll, the access is tight or the job is on a busy road. Ask how the price is worked out before the truck is sent.
