Toyota Corolla Breakdown Tow, Mirrabooka to Balcatta
Operator: Chris
- To the Mechanic
Danny's Toyota Corolla broke down at home in Mirrabooka, and he needed it at his mechanic in Balcatta as soon as possible.
Chris picked it up, strapped the Corolla down on the tilt tray and dropped it at the workshop so the repairs could get started. Danny was very appreciative.
A Corolla like this one, the 2001 to 2007 hatch, is a common first car for good reason. Corollas have a long record for reliability, parts are cheap and easy to find, and most mechanics know them inside out.
Even a reliable car breaks down eventually. On an older one it is usually something simple: a tired battery, a worn alternator belt, or a coolant hose that has gone hard with age.
Signs a Battery Is on Its Way Out
A flat or failing battery is the most common reason a car breaks down, and Perth's summer heat wears batteries out faster. Most give some warning first:
- The engine is slow to crank.
- The dashboard lights flicker.
- The headlights look dim.
- The car sometimes will not start.
