Hire Car Stuck Out of Gear, Towed to the Airbnb in Wembley

Lloyd was in Perth on holiday when the gear selector on his hire car stopped clicking into gear properly in Wembley. He didn't need a workshop. He needed the car back at the Airbnb where he was staying, so the hire car company could collect it and sort him out with a replacement.
It turned out something had been left wrong with the car by the person who hired it before him. James got it into neutral, loaded it onto the tilt tray and took it back to the Airbnb.
The tilt tray has a crew cab, so Lloyd, his partner and their dog all rode along in the truck instead of finding their own way back. It is not the kind of thing anyone wants to deal with on holiday, and James had it done and dusted in one trip.

Why Automatics Go on a Tilt Tray
With the engine off, most automatic gearboxes stop pumping their fluid. If the drive wheels turn during a tow, parts inside the gearbox spin with no oil reaching them, and putting it in neutral does not always stop that.
On a tilt tray all four wheels are off the road, so nothing turns. If you are not sure how your car should be towed, the owner's manual will say.
